Get to Know Me
Ever since I was young all I have wanted to do is help people. Having studied psychology and then going on to complete a Social Work post-graduate and a counselling post-graduate, I was able to fulfil this ambition and I have enjoyed an amazing career in social work and social care. I have worked as a practitioner, strategic development officer, and a manager. I have been involved in systems change, developing and designing services for a wide range of clients groups and helped write good practice guidance for the Scottish government.
However, having had my own experience of anxiety and overcoming it led me down a new path. My passion lies supporting people to overcome barriers to better mental health and wellbeing which led me to setting up my private practice. I want nothing more than to use all my 20 plus years of experience to help those who are suffering with anxiety, low mood, low self-confidence or self-esteem. I would love to support you to overcome your anxiety and find a path to feeling more confident and able to handle whatever life might bring your way.
I am not just a therapist though - I am a mum and a wife, I have two cats and a dog (my beautiful cocker spaniel Amber - that I hope will be my therapet one day). In my spare time I am a sports coach and I love spending time renovating our house and my newest pleasure is gardening - i always have a project on the go! I am also dyslexic which I think is one of my super powers. These are all the things that make me unique and I always aim to bring all of me to the therapy room.
