Get to Know Me
I’ve always been drawn to helping people. From a young age, I knew I wanted a career where I could support others through life’s challenges, and that passion has stayed with me ever since.
After studying Psychology, I went on to complete postgraduate qualifications in both Social Work and Counselling. Over the past 20+ years, I’ve had the privilege of working across social work, social care, and mental health services within both the public and third sectors. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the challenges people face and the resilience they often don’t realise they already possess.
My own experience of anxiety and low mood has also shaped the therapist I am today. I know how overwhelming anxiety can feel and how much courage it takes to ask for support. Working through my own challenges helped me understand that anxiety doesn’t have to control your life, and it inspired me to create a private practice focused on helping others find their way forward.
I work with people experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, low self-confidence, and low self-esteem. My aim is to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore what’s going on for you, understand yourself more deeply, and develop the tools and confidence to make positive changes.
Outside of my counselling work, I’m a wife, a mum, and a proud pet owner to two cats and my beautiful cocker spaniel, Amber, who I secretly hope will become a therapy dog one day!
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me coaching sport, working on a home renovation project, or spending time in the garden. I also have dyslexia, which I believe has given me a unique perspective and helped me appreciate that we all experience and navigate the world in our own way.
All of these experiences have shaped who I am, both as a person and as a therapist. When we work together, you won’t meet a blank canvas. You’ll meet a real person who brings warmth, compassion, authenticity, and understanding into the therapy room.
