FAQs

Do you offer an introductory call?

Yes, I offer a 15 minute introductory call either by telephone or via Zoom.  It is really important that you feel a connection with your counsellor and this will give you a chance to decide if I am the right fit for you.

How long is a Counselling session?

Individual counselling sessions are 50 minutes long.  The sessions are led by you and focus on any issue you want to bring on the day.

Do you offer face to face sessions?

Yes,  I offer face to face sessions in Kemnay, Aberdeenshire.  I currently rent a warm, welcoming room, with lovely views, in Kemnay Church Centre.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, I offer individual online sessions via Zoom.  Online sessions became more popular during lockdown and I have experience delivering successful counseling sessions online.

You will need to make sure that you have a quiet, confidential space to take part in online sessions.

How much does a session cost?

Sessions cost £45 for an online session and £55 for a face to face session.

How many sessions will I need?

There is no definitive answer to this.  Some people might have one session and decide that is all they need.

I would suggest a minimum of 6 sessions with a review of progress on the 6th session.  No-one should stay in counselling longer than they feel they need to.

There is no maximum amount of sessions but the longest I have worked with anyone has been a year.

What is the frequency of sessions?

Again this is down to you as an individual.  You may find that weekly sessions have the most impact but we can agree between us what frequency is best for you.  You can also change the frequency at any point in your journey.

Do you offer group sessions?

Not yet but watch this space as it is something I hope to offer in the future.
